About the event

Join us at the fifth annual AWS Central Area Women’s Summit on August 24th, 2022. It is a one-day event designed to bring together AWS Central Area employees, customers, and partners as a community in support of women. The sessions are designed to expand their network, build new skills, and further their careers.

Sessions include Closing the Gender Finance Gap, Emotional Intelligence – How to find Balance, and a Customer Panel – Leading the Charge as Women in the Tech World.


Sessions will be followed by a Happy Hour where Poker Power will be in attendance to teach those interested how to play poker or facilitate games for those who already know how to play. Poker Power teaches women how to take calculated risks in business, finance, and in life.

Who should attend

The AWS Women’s Summit is an educational event, as well as a networking event, for women and supporters of women to learn from the presenters and each other, and share their experiences. The event is open to AWS customers, partners, and employees who are women, identify as female, or are supporters of women.

Katherine Barna is Vice President, Communications for Awesomeness, a leading multi-platform media company defining the future of entertainment. At Awesomeness, Barna oversees communication and PR strategy for the company and its four key divisions: the Gen Z-focused AwesomenessTV network, Awesomeness Films, DreamWorksTV, and Awestruck. In addition, she heads up the company’s social responsibility initiatives. Previously, she was Head of Communications and Public Policy for Tumblr. She joined the company in 2011 as the 25th employee overall and one of the first non-technical members of the team.
